huddled masses

The paper trail leads from the imagination of an aspiring entrepreneur now absconding through investment banks not punished to political parties courtesy of titled royals offering services landing in conspicuous consumption to the delight of real estate developers selling unaffordable properties at unimaginable prices and now recovered by regulators motivated by media chronicles of gluttony.

Conveniently the news that an aspiring Arab Royal has been brought to terms opens the question of whether the monies be returned to the same politicians from whence it came or rather a noble cause of the resettlement of ignored refugees whose crime is to have been born wrong.

The country in question has a GDP per capita of $12,000, enjoys the third-largest reserves of natural gas on the planet, buyers of palm oil by shepherds for 3 billion consumers in neighboring countries, a sovereign wealth fund that exports capital far and wide, a domestic bond market that receives alms from Norwegians to purveyors of Sukuk, tourism that doubles the population on an annual basis, but claims it would be inconvenient to resettle a few thousand of its religious brethren who set sail from marshes on the monsoon winds between November and April each year to avoid genocide.

The $5 billion spirited by the aspiring entrepreneur was not missed. $100 million out of the recovered $1.1 billion to date would fund the anchor investment on salvation for the huddled masses and the leadership to assemble the air-conditioned privileged seated in conference rooms overlooking houses of worship.

Just a thought
