Mumbai: The Indian rupee on Friday weakened past the 67 mark against the US dollar after a view emerged that the European Central Bank’s (ECB) measures are not enough to prop up global growth, making India more vulnerable to dollar outflows. This is the third consecutive session when the rupee is trading lower.

The ECB eased policy further on Thursday to fight stubbornly low inflation but kept much of its powder dry, disappointing high market expectations for greater stimulus. The ECB cut its deposit rate by 0.1% to minus 0.3% (from minus 0.2%) and said it would extend its massive €60 billion, or $63.5 billion a month, bond-buying scheme to at least March 2017, Reuters reported.
